We love you Brooklyn, and we’re going to celebrate you this weekend, but while the party goes on, we will still be supporting our city.

MeanRed Co-Owner Jen Lyon is a hardcore Red Hook-er, and co-owner Katie Longmyer has been posted up on Avenue C for 11 years – two areas hit hard by Sandy. With 10,000+ of their neighbors without power or heat, they decided to help em out a bit and donate a bit extra with The Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival.

When you check your coat at BEMF this weekend, proceeds will be going to Red Hook Initiative to help with Sandy Relief.

We encourage all of you – even if you are just visiting – to learn about what’s happened in New York and volunteer!
